So I purchased a Hobby Zone Duet for my daughter to play around with.  Everything is still stock (except for the battery cozy) , and it flies great.  Perfect trainer and neighborhood flyer.  The differential works great  in the air, not quite as well on the ground but who wants to be on the ground.

My one big gripe about it is that the receiver is not DSM2/X compatible.  It doesn’t bind to any of my
Spektrum (or other) transmitters.  This means a separate transmitter dedicated specifically for it, and extra batteries (AA sized) for the transmitter, etc.
